Somehow I made it on to the nice list. And the only reason I know this, is the new bicycle light I got from Santa. Proof Positive.
A Cygolite Turbo Jet 740.
The features:
I have to say so far I am pretty impressed by this little light. It puts out a serious amount of light for such a small package.
I am also impressed with the quality of craft. It has a well made feel to it. It doesn't feel chintzy.
Initially, I was a little concerned about the battery pack that comes with it. I thought that it was going to be cumbersome and just a general pain in the neck.
I haven't done a whole lot of riding with it, but it doesn't seem like it is going to be an issue.
The Velcro strap system they have seems to work well and it tucks away and becomes mostly inconspicuous. Hopefully, in the near future I can get a bunch of riding done and give a little more in depth review.
But my intial impressions are:
Well made- good quality
Easy to us- easy to turn on and off and easy to mount.
A lot of power in a pretty small package- the light itself is tiny. The battery pack is considerably bigger.
The only issue I really had was that there were not enough shims for the handle bar mount. My bars are 22.2 and I couldn't get the mount to tighten up. But that wasn't anything really. A little handle bar tape and every thing was ready to roll.

Shine on!
ReplyDeleteLooking for a reliable manufacturer of led lights from flooding can be a tedious task at times, especially if you do not really know what to look for. Extensive research to do, so if you want to get the best results.
ReplyDeleteSweet looking. I am in the market and will be looking into this as an option for myself.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
I have been using it for a month now and I have to say I am pretty happy with it. I ride about 10 to 15 miles a day sometimes less, hardly much more, this time of year. The charge on the battery seems to last three days easily. Depending on how much I ride at night. I usually have it in flash mode during the day. Sometimes I forget.
DeleteThanks for the feedback on it. I am still using a real cheapie and likely won't invest until next Fall, but this is good info for me to file away.
